Position Summary

The Pricing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's pricing strategy to maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the marketplace. This role partners closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, Procurement, and Executive Leadership to analyze pricing trends, customer profitability, product margins, and market conditions to support strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong financial and analytical skills with business acumen and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
 

Essential Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy

  • Develop and maintain pricing strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive pricing, and customer demand.
  • Recommend pricing actions to improve profitability and market share.
  • Lead annual and periodic price increase initiatives.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain appropriate pricing tools and systems
 

Financial Analysis

  • Analyze gross margin by customer, product, product family, sales representative, and region.
  • Evaluate customer profitability and recommend pricing improvements.
  • Monitor pricing performance against budget and forecast.
  • Prepare pricing models for new products and programs.
 

Reporting & Analytics

  • Maintain dashboards for price realization, gross margin, customer profitability, product profitability, discounts, price variance, win/loss analysis, and competitive pricing.
 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Purchasing, Operations, Customer Service, and Executive Leadership.
  • Lead system and performance audits ensuring compliance with the company’s pricing process
 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field. MBA preferred. Five or more years of pricing, finance, FP&A, business analytics, or commercial finance experience. Manufacturing or industrial distribution experience preferred.
 

Technical Skills

Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL (preferred), ERP systems, CRM systems, financial modeling, and business intelligence tools.
